MATTERは、アーティストが新たな挑戦を実現できる場を創り上げるという思いから、アーティストの酒井建治がディレクターを務めるアートスペースです。 展示を通じてアーティストの新たな側面を輝かせ、彼らをサポートしています。 鑑賞者の皆様に作品だけでなく、アーティストとしての人間性にも目を向けていただきたいと願っています。そこで、人と人とのつながりを大切にし、アーティストの創造的な挑戦を応援し、共に目撃する機会を提供しています。 MATTER is an art space directed by artist Kenji Sakai with the desire to create a place where artists can realize new challenges. We support artists by shining a new light on them through our exhibitions. We hope that viewers will not only look at the artworks, but also at the humanity of the artists themselves. Therefore, we value human connections and provide opportunities to support and witness together the creative challenges of the artists.

1996年生まれ 油絵、版画/シルクスクリーン、立体作品など、様々なメディアを用いて制作活動を行う。自身の実体験を起点とし、現代社会における集団と自己の関係、都市の無機質な構造を俯瞰する視点から、時間や空間、目に見えない次元といった認知に問いかける作品を制作している。 I was born in 1996 and am an artist based in London/Tokyo. In today’s fast-paced society, I aim to create “slow and time-release art” that resonates over time. While navigating my own changes as well as the transformations in society and the environment, I aspire to archive my works as something unchanging.
